Israel Indo-Pacific relations

Israel Indo-Pacific relations

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Indo–Pacific is emerging as a geopolitical arena with growing importance for Israel. It carries decisive weight in the global economy, in critical supply chains, and in developing advanced technologies. The competition between the U.S. and China in the Indo-Pacific is intensifying, prompting Washington to shift more attention and resources to the region. For Israel, this is a strategic space that offers significant opportunities in the diplomatic, economic, security, and technological spheres, and as such requires strategic thinking about international positioning, partner selection, and risk management.

The region offers a path to strategic cooperation with prominent countries. First and foremost is India, which continues to climb in global rankings and consolidate its status as a major power. India is the world’s most populous country, with a young population, a growing technology sector, and one of the largest economies – making it a particularly important partner for Israel.

“The operational lessons from the war – especially in defensive and offensive technologies – are drawing interest in Israel’s expertise in both Japan and Taiwan. In particular, they are seeking Israeli know-how in multi-layered air and missile defense, community resilience, home front defense, and cyber security.”

“Despite the fruitful cooperation between Israel and India, the potential is still far from being fully realized in various technological fields such as renewable energy, cyber, artificial intelligence, agriculture, water, medicine, and space. India itself is an emerging technological power but needs Israeli technologies, while Israel can benefit from India’s vast market, its connections with third countries, and its relatively skilled and affordable workforce. There is also great potential in the fields of investment and infrastructure." (27.10.25)

“The world stands at a critical crossroads, as China watches and learns the limits of American deterrence and capability in territorial disputes in the South China Sea – especially with regard to Taiwan. America’s ability to impose a heavy price, and even more so its willingness to use that power, could lead China to reassess both its readiness and its capacity to enter a high-risk campaign over Taiwan.” (23.6.25)

"Both India and Israel found themselves fighting on the same abstract battlefield: the narrative. Disinformation has become a strategic tool, no less than missiles or tanks. Whoever manages to control the story does not always have to control the terrain." (14.5.25)
